Always reblog

This is Karate, a painting done by Filipino national artist Jose Joya using acrylics (if I remember correctly).  It’s on display at the National Museum Art Gallery ‘s Joya exhibit.  My crappy camera couldn’t capture the colors right- it looks washed out here.  It’s much more vivid if you see it with your own eyes.

It’s not one of Joya’s most popular works, but for some reason I really like this one (and I’m hardly a fan of abstract art).  I keep associating it with this oil painting:

Marcel Duchamp’s Nude Descending A Staircase No. 2

I’m not an art critic or anything, but they both painted the movements of a figure.  No figures or subject in the painting, rather, the subject of the painting is the figures’ movements.  I don’t know if I’m making sense.  Anyway I could stare at these two the whole day.  I wish our National Museum sold postcards or pins or something of the paintings.

Untitled – Commission by Ani Reimi-Orsa

This reminds me of the art they used in Theresia.  Good DS game.

This is the personal blog of teskaraptor aka bananatree. Yes that's me, a 20-something nurse working in the IT field.
If you ask me to choose one word to describe myself, I would choose "weird."
