Coming back from a funeral home during heavy rain
Has caused so much cold to seep into my bones
Some of it is resting on top of my shoulders.
Sadness washes over me like waterfalls.
I feel lethargic
I can’t get enough warmth back inside my body.
Right now I’m in an internet shop in Lucena. I spent my new year’s here and I’ll be staying until tomorrow. Or Monday.
Most of my days here have been composed of eating and staying up late catching up with my cousins, waking up late, and then listening to and watching our drunk neighbors play with fireworks. That’s the thing I love about spending New Year’s here in Lucena. Although the fireworks in Manila are generally better visually, (not to mention much much safer), over here you get more freedom (har har har).
I really want to go back to Manila though. Compared to Lucena, it’s a lot warmer over there. I can’t go out of the house without a jacket on (I wear the jacket inside the house too).

It’s 7:30AM and raining hard. Last night I was wishing the weather would be a bit cold today, and I love rain, but I am regretting that now because the rain doesn’t seem like it will stop soon. As much as I want to stay home sitting barefoot in front of my laptop, I’m getting impatient waiting. I have to go to PUP to help my friend Ela work on a stage design for a forum named I am Ninoy (which I’m guessing is dedicated to our country’s hero, Ninoy Aquino). I haven’t seen the concept yet but I’m excited to see the results later. Also, we get to attend the forum for free. Going with full rain gear.
